| How do I optimize my Windfoils performance? To work well, WindFoils have to be held close to your head. Loose helmet straps allow wind to rush inside the Windfoil and create noise. A simple way to test for loose straps is to open your mouth while you are riding. If this reduces the wind noise then your helmet straps have to be tighter. |
| Do the helmet straps have to be uncomfortably tight for WindFoils to work? No. If the straps are adjusted properly, to manufacturers recommendations, the WindFoils will work great. Many people never adjust their helmet straps properly. Riding with the straps adjusted properly will feel very natural after a short time and will also ensure increased safety. |

my ears going to get hot and sweaty wearing Windfoils? No, the MicroVent construction allows plenty of airflow through the WindFoils. |

The WindFoils are touching my ears, how do I adjust them?![]() When your WindFoils are properly fitted and adjusted you should not be aware that you are wearing them. It may be sufficient while wearing WindFoils to move them off the ear to achieve the comfort you want. If not try the following: If the WindFoil is touching the front of your ear move the strap buckle down. This will to make the strap in front of your ear move forward. Adjust the WindFoil up or down on the straps to the most comfortable spot. If the WindFoil is touching the back of your ear move the strap buckle up. This will to make the strap in front of your ear move backward. Adjust the WindFoil up or down on the strap to the most comfortable position. |
| Can I use all three clips? On most helmets it is best to use the clips only on the front strap. To determine if you could use all three clips check the following. Mount the WindFoil as shown in the directions and put the helmet on. If the back strap falls in the exact position as the third snap, its okay to use it; otherwise do not. |
| Do WindFoils increase drag? We have not been able to measure any increase in drag. We are currently testing to see if the WindFoils aerodynamical streamlining actually reduces drag around your head. Check back later for more information on this subject. Regardless you will find that wind noise reduction will make you feel less fatigued. |
| Do
WindFoils fit all helmets? We have been able to successfully fit Windfoils to all the helmets we have found. It is easier to fit to some helmets than others; but with care you can successfully fit WindFoils to a wide variety of old and new style helmets. |
| Should the bottom clip attach to the just the front strap or both straps? Strap widths and thickness vary dramatically. We suggest, for helmets with wide straps it is best to only clip the front strap. For helmets that use the thin skinny straps, it's best to clip to the front and back straps. There is no right and wrong rule, use what ever works best for you. |
| How can I wash my WindFoils? Rinse with warm water while they are attached to the helmet. You can wash with mild soap and rinse. |
| My
WindFoils are not working as well as they use to. What has happened? Check your WindFoils for dents, areas of missing soft fiber, or if the soft fiber has become contaminated and hard. If your WindFoils look good, the chances are your helmet straps have become loose. |
| How
can I tell if my WindFoils are working? For a test, we suggest riding or skating with only one WindFoil fitted to your helmet. Then you will "hear the difference". |
